Espressif's Wildlife Protection Program

The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), established in 1948 by governments and civil society organizations, is a globally trusted union for the protection of the natural world. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species? was first compiled in 1964 and has since become the world's most comprehensive inventory of the global conservation status of plant and animal species. Its strong scientific base and quantitative criteria apply to most species and all regions of the world. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species? is considered the most authoritative guide for evaluating biodiversity and the extinction risk of thousands of species.

Espressif is known for its keen sense of corporate social responsibility, having long supported green / low-power technologies and having based its entire business model on open-source software and the democratization of technology. At present, we are deeply concerned about climate change, which has been the result of human actions in recent decades. Hoping to create more public awareness of this crisis, we are launching a wildlife protection program which draws on the environmental insight brought about by The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species?. What's more, Espressif will donate the proceeds from development boards included in this wildlife protection program to the IUCN.

Vaquita

Critically Endangered

Vaquita, the world's rarest marine mammal, is on the verge of extinction. The plight of cetaceans—whales, dolphins, and porpoises—as a whole is exemplified by the rapid decline of the vaquita in Mexico, with about 10 individuals remaining.

ESP32-Vaquita-DSPG

ESP32-Vaquita-DSPG is Espressif’s new Alexa built-in solution, powered by ESP32 and DSP Group’s DBMD5P audio SoC. With a 2-Mic array which allows for a 360-degree pick-up, the solution provides a superior far-field voice recognition performance. The new ESP32-Vaquita-DSPG development kit is a turnkey solution for easily creating Alexa built-in connected devices that provide out-of-the-box voice enablement and AWS-IoT cloud connectivity.
